The King and the Queen may choose one Chamberlain or Secretary to oversee and coordinate the royal retinue.
During events, the hosting branch and other branches in attendance may elect one or two individuals who would enjoy learning about the duties of retinue or who would enjoy having the ear of the Crown to join the retinue during that event. The Crown enjoys meeting the people and speaking with them.
Children who wish to be pages and attend the Crown must have their parent or guardian with them to supervise their activities at all times. The Crown will spend time helping them learn about Medieval graces. Children may serve up to 10 minutes per day. They may be asked to get the Crown a beverage, carry a message, or even “stand guard” to “protect” the Crown. They will receive a small gift from the Crown’s reward chest for their service.
Responsibilities and duties of the retinue are outlined in the Book of Tradition.
