About

The Kingdom of Solara is a private, voluntary, recreational organization devoted to medieval re-enactment, education, and immersive play. We endeavor to include activities such as are found within the historic Medieval era including but not limited to marshal competition and combat, arts, sciences, and activities of daily life within the Steading.

Solara is not a governmental body and does not exercise real‑world legal authority. All titles, offices, conflicts, sanctions, and actions described herein exist solely within the context of the game and community of Solara. Participation is voluntary, and no provision of this Book supersedes applicable real‑world laws, venue rules, safety requirements, or insurance obligations.

We also acknowledge, welcome, and include Steadings that are based more on fantasy and LARP cultures.

Safety & Liability Supremacy

All martial activities are governed first and foremost by safety rules, waivers, insurance requirements, and venue regulations. No game objective, war condition, or Crown directive may override safety standards. All participants engage in martial activities at their own risk and must comply with all required waivers and marshal rules.

All rules in this book are subject and under the Universal Laws and By-Laws of the organization. In the event of conflict, external governing documents take precedence.

Our Goals

We gather to recreate a Golden Age within the Medieval historical reenactment landscape. Solara is a Kingdom who is at peace within and without the lands.

Our people enjoy the rewards of the peaceful age by engaging in the arts, theatre, and the sciences. Our warriors enjoy honing their skills through training and showing their prowess through tournaments and war maneuvers. But do not be deceived, for they are at the ready when the banners are called to meet all enemies upon the field of battle.

The Mission of Solara shall be to gather together the peoples of like mind and heart and grow our lands. We shall endeavor to provide a hearth of welcome and foster new members within our realm. We shall endeavor to provide a community that is inviting, creative, and inspiring.

Solara acknowledges the historical time periods and location of each Steading based upon their specific group personae. Based in Ashland, Kentucky, USA and within the hearts of our people – known as

The Arms of Solara

“Arms” refers to our Heraldic Banner. Heraldry was utilized by Feudal lands (towns/counties), organizations/orders (like the Templars), and families/clans, as well as individuals to be recognized on the field.

Displaying the Arms of Solara

The Fireborn are encouraged to fly and bear proudly our Sun in any appropriate and fitting manner.

The Arms of the Crown

The Arms of the Crown is  flown by the Crown on the field and at their encampment.

Who Can Display the Royal Arms of Solara

The Royal Sun may only be displayed by the sitting Crown. However, former Crowns may add the Royal Sun as an augmentation of their personal arms.
