Orders of the Sun – Kingdom Level
The Crown may award unto any citizen any such Honor as We desire to recognize the dedication, hard work, and loyalty of the people. We do call upon all Lords of the land to bring such tidings to our ears of great deeds that we may enjoin in the joys of the people and to further promote such worthy citizens by inducting them into Orders most deserving. All final decisions are at the will and pleasure of the Crown.
- The Crown may, at their pleasure, create Orders to which individuals may be inducted in recognition of their service to their native lands and/or to the Crown and the Kingdom.
- While awards are at the pleasure of the Crown, the Crown will not promote based on personal association with any individual but will judiciously and thoughtfully select individuals who merit such honors.
- It is the responsibility of the Lords of the Kingdom of Solara to bring to the attention of the Crown, those worthy of recognition, though any citizen of the Kingdom of Solara may do so.
- Induction into any Kingdom Order is for individuals whom the Crown determines not only to have mastered their area(s) of participation in the Kingdom, but further teach, encourage, recruit, assist, and embody the spirit of the Kingdom of Solara.
- All members of the Orders of the Sun are chosen, sanctioned, and released by the Crown.
- Members of the following Orders enter into a great responsibility to the Crown, the Kingdom, and the citizenry. It is not a commission to be taken lightly, as selecting individuals to join the Orders is not taken lightly.
- Individuals must have shown dedication and service to the Kingdom over time without fail, except in situations of undue hardship, ill health, or other such grievous events in their life as to warrant their period of absence.
- Individuals are chosen based on their willingness to serve. Others may have more talent, skill, or prowess, but have not dedicated themselves to the cause of the Kingdom.
- Members must continue to serve the Crown and Kingdom with the same dedication shown prior to their induction.
- Otherwise, the Crown may become displeased and deprive or demote members of any Order or of any title or position within the Kingdom if they cease their dedication to the Kingdom and/or their Steading.
- All awards given by the hand of the Crown must be witnessed by the citizenry and recorded by the Office of the Lord Privy Seal.
- All actions, whether to bestow or deprive, concerning accolades of the Kingdom of Solara shall be accompanied by a litany of either Deeds of Renown or Infamy, so that both the honored individual and the citizenry may know of its merit.
Responsibilities of Order Members
- All members of any Order are to promote their area of service, set the standard for eventing and persona development, encourage these traits and skills in their fellow people.
- Allegiance
- Members of the Orders of Honor are expected to give their Allegiance to the citizens of Solara.
- They may refuse allegiance to any Crown they do not support.
- They may revoke their allegiance given to any Crown in which they have lost faith.
- They may resign their commission if they are no longer able or willing to serve.
- Members must
- Have a developed Persona which is a functional persona with a degree of research and understanding of the chosen period.
- Have an established eventing kit.
- Must own their own accoutrements appropriate for their persona.
- Own basic garb and garb appropriate for court
- Members are expected to assist with and attend their respective Steading’s events, as well as provide service to the Crown events.
- Members may take on apprentices to train and assist with their growth.
- They may put forth names of apprentices to their respective Lord for consideration of awards, or unto the Crown for induction into the Orders.
- Members should attend court and encourage others to do so.
- Members of Orders may add Honorable to their name.
Order of the Aegis Solis
- The Crown may invite any eligible people to become a member of the Aegis Solis.
- The Aegis Solis are individuals who have shown their dedication to Solara and /or their respective Steading.
- Membership into this Order comes with great duty and responsibility to be a learned Elder of the people in one or more areas of Solara, such as marshal, arts, service, and/or governance.
- It is not through talent or service alone that garners the Crown’s favor for this Order, but in dedication and the willingness to assist others in various ways.
- Responsibilities are to continue to be a good citizen, a member of the Kingdom, willingness, and ability to continue through service, willingness to teach and train others, and willingness to meet the needs of Solara and/or their Steading.
- No order of precedence is established as a member of this order.
- No additional privileges or voting rights are established as a member of this order.
- Any citizen may call upon any member of the Aegis Solis for consultation on their area of expertise the citizen may have.
- In the event a member cannot continue to fulfill their duties, they may retire from the Order as a Regium Emeritus.
Order of Scepter Nova (Former Crowns)
- The Order of the Scepter Nova are individuals who have served as Crown who are no longer in those positions.
- This Order acknowledges their past contributions to the Crown and Kingdom of Solara as a roll of honor for their service.
- Members shall be entitled Marquis and Marquessa (former King or Queen). They relinquish the titles of Black and White Hellbender.
- Members may wear a Golden Crowned Sun on a black field.
- Members of the Scepter Nova may utilize the crowned sun as augmentation of their personal arms.
- It is expected that these individuals will continue to assist the Kingdom of Solara and the Crown when called upon.
- The Crown retains the right to call upon these members at any time for service to the Kingdom of Solara and the citizenry.
- Any former Crown who abdicates for insufficient reason or is removed by resolution may not be members of this Order.
Order of the Solis Radius (Crown Retinue) (Ray of the Sun)
- This Accolade is designed to recognize a member of a Crown’s retinue for their service and truly going above and beyond expectation in service to the Crown during their reign.
- This Accolade may also be given to individuals who provide such service to the Crown and/or Kingdom, although not members, as they deserve to be written into the annuls of history for their contribution.
- This Accolade is represented by a Golden Sun on a green field. The badge or belt favor may only be worn when the individual is an active retainer for the current sitting Crown.
Order of the Hellbenders – Knights of the Sun
- The Order of the Hellbenders of the Kingdom of Solara is to promote the arts of marshal prowess, set the standard for marshal combat, encourage these traits and skills in their fellow people, and defend the Crown and the Kingdom of Solara.
- Knights of the Hellbenders may be called upon to defend the people against foreign enemies, rebellious Lords, and Tyrant Crowns.
- Knights of the Hellbenders may wear a white belt or any color adorned belt of the station, golden spurs, and a golden chain or any combination thereof.
- They may choose their title based upon their Steading’s time period and customs. The default will be Sir/Dame.
- They may choose to wear a baldric as a Master in equivalence. They should not wear a chain or spurs if they choose the Master path.
- Requirements of the Order of the Hellbenders
- Proficiency in Combat Arts.
- This shall be displayed through one’s renown in the Kingdom of Solara upon the war field and or the tourney lists.
- Must own their own arms and armor appropriate for their persona.
- Proficiency in Combat Arts.
- Expectations of the Order of the Hellbenders.
- To promote the marshalate arts.
- Knights of the Hellbenders are expected to attend regular fight practices in their own Steadings and the Steadings surrounding them.
- To take on students, man at arms, and squires and to train.
- To always accept challenges of combat when appropriate.
- To be aware of safety issues on the field, and to assist in the resolution of said situations. All Knights have the duty of marshalling the field and/or pitch.
- To Defend the Crown of Kingdom of Solara
- Knights of the Hellbenders are expected to participate in Crown conflicts.
- The side the knight fights for shall be decided by the knight.
- Knights are not to be abased for their choice of which contender to support.
- To promote the marshalate arts.
Order of the Quasar
- The Order of the Quasar is for all members of the marshalate who have come to the place in their life where one cannot always take to the field of battle at the call of the Crown.
- They shall be entitled Knight Commander and shall retain their title and all rights and privileges of the Knighthood.
- Becoming a member of the OoQ is a great honor in that the Crown has such esteem for one’s talents, abilities, knowledge, and aptitude for training fighters, strategists of war, marshals, and other such valiant warriors and heroes of great deeds.
- For these members shall still answer with their banners to the call from the Crown and shall take unto themselves an Oath of Honor to continue to serve the Crown.
- They are true and proven warriors who still hold great value unto the Crown and shall continue to be esteemed.
- They shall be honored in tournament and have all rights and privileges to enter into competition as they so desire.
- Responsibilities of the Quasar
- Advise the King / Queen on strategies of war.
- To assist with training all fighters, imparting to them the wisdom of their years and experience.
- May take unto themselves squires and men-at-arms to assist in their training, growth, and path to knighthood.
- Will remain in the council of knights if they so choose.
- May host tournaments for the Quasar Knights. (for Rules of Quasar Tournaments – see the Solara Treatise of War).
- Will act as the League of Marshals and run the lists for tournaments and field activities.
- May appoint and direct special teams for setting up and removal of lists, haybales, and other items needed for events.
Order of the Ravenfyre
- In times past, women picked up their swords and donned their armor to defend kith and kin, lead armies, and inspire other warriors.
- Ravenfyre is a corps of female fighters who work together to empower and encourage each other in all aspects of marshal competition.
- While membership into the Ravenfyre troupe is open to all female fighters, induction into the Order of the Ravenfyre is at the pleasure of the Crown.
- Induction into the Order of the Ravenfyre will bring with it the title of Captain.
- The title Captain is not an equivalent of knighthood.
- Knights within the Ravenfyre will hold the title of Commander.
- The Ravenfyre shall host tournaments or war maneuvers at least annually.
- Rules are outlined in the Solara Treatise of War.
Order of the Golden Lance
- The Order of the Golden Lance is for fighters who have shown great prowess but have not achieved Knighthood regardless of their rank.
- At the Crown’s pleasure, such warriors may be inducted into the Order of the Golden Lance and entitled as Captain.
- Tournaments or war maneuvers shall be held for the Golden Lance at least annually.
- Rules are outlined in the Solara Treatise of War.
Order of the Firebenders – Artisans of the Sun
- The Order of the Firebenders of the Kingdom of Solara are to promote the arts and sciences, set the standard for crafts, encourage these traits and skills in their fellow people, and enter competitions in order to win war points.
- They may choose their title based upon their Steading’s time period and customs. The default will be Master / Maistress.
- Requirements of the Order of the Firebenders
- Mastery in one or more areas of the Arts and/or Sciences.
- This shall be displayed through one’s renown among the varied Steadings of Kingdom of Solara through Arts competitions and teaching.
- Mastery in one or more areas of the Arts and/or Sciences.
- Should display a good medieval representation in both clothing and encampment.
- Expectations of the Order of the Firebenders.
- To promote the arts and sciences.
- Firebenders are expected to attend events and regular meetings in their own Steadings and events with the Steadings surrounding them.
- To take on students called apprentices and to train them to do the same.
- To assist with teaching the people in their area(s) of expertise of the arts.
- To showcase the arts of Solaran artisans and promote their merit.
- To promote the arts and sciences.
Order of the Fire Builders – Service Corp of the Sun
- The Order of the Fire Builders of the Kingdom of Solara is to promote the areas of service and encourage these traits and skills in their fellow people.
- Fire Builders may be called upon to host events, run feasts, or be part of the Crown’s retinue among the many other things for which they tend.
- They may choose their title based upon their Steading’s time period and customs. The default will be Maister / Maistress.
- Requirements of the Order of the Fire Builders
- A solid and consistent demonstration of dedication and service to their Steading or the Crown.
- The ability to run events, feasts, list fields, be an officer of their Steading or the Kingdom, or other such matters within the realms of service.
- Should display a good medieval representation in both clothing and encampment.
- Expectations of the Order of the Fire Builders.
- To promote the service arts.
- Fire Builders are expected to attend events and regular meetings in their own Steadings and events with the Steadings surrounding them.
- To take on students called Attendants and to train them to do the same.
- To assist with teaching the people in their area(s) of expertise of service.
- To promote the service arts.
Order of the Firestorm
- The Order of the Firestorm is an award given unto any Fire Borne who has honorably served in the service of the US Military. This Order is honorary and does not carry any duties, titles, or responsibilities.
