Sumptuary Laws and Order of Precedence

  1. Sumptuary Laws cover what may be worn by the person filling the following positions.
  2. The Order of Precedence is the sequential hierarchy for Peers of the Realm, Officers of State, and Holders of Orders of Chivalry.
  3. Nobles may utilize the appropriate crown of station above their personal coat of arms during their investiture. 
  4. While all positions of leadership must be in service to the people, for the concept of creating a medieval feudal structure, the following Order of Precedence (OOP) is based in historical documentation and shall be maintained.
  5. Nobles from other organization may wear their Kingdom’s adornments as they are our honored guests.

Duke/Duchess may wear strawberry leaves upon their coronet.
May wear a chain of their office

Duke/Duchess Consort may wear strawberry leaves upon their coronet but may not wear a chain of office.  
Archbishop of SolaraThis position is one of the principal advisors to the Crown  His /Her ExcellencyThe Archbishop may wear the Kingdom’s Bishop’s miter and a chain of their office
Lord High Master of CoinThis position is one of the principal advisors to the Crown  His /Her ExcellencyThe Lord High Master of Coin may wear a chain of their office
Lord Privy SealThis position is one of the principal advisors to the Crown and keeper of Seals  His /her ExcellencyThe Lord Privy Seal may wear a chain of their office
Marquis MarquessaThe former crowns of SolaraYour GraceMy LordSir /MadamAn adorned gold crown of their choosing.
May wear silver pearls and up to 4 strawberry leaves upon their crown along with no more than 5 gemstones of their choosing (except the Sunstone).    
Prince PrincessRuler of a PrincipalityHis /Her Royal HighnessYour GraceSir /Madam  Principalities should consider the future and becoming a Kingdom and should fashion their crowns to the desire and personae of their Principality.

May wear white pearls upon the crown.

Duke/Duchess may not wear a chain of office.  
Lord LadyAll peers (Knights, Maisters, Masters)  Honorable Lord /LadySir for Knights properLord Marshal for all Marshals / Order of the QuasarEarl Marshals may wear a gold tabard.
Marshals may wear a white tabard.
Knights may wear a white belt adorned or not, gold spurs, and a chain as desired.
Masters of Arms may wear a white baldric.
Masters and Maisters may wear a white and golden cord on their belts.
Kingdom Officers   Good SirGood LadyMay wear the chain of their office.
Heads of Households /Tribes   m’lord /m’lady 
Members of Solara   m’lord /m’ladyJewelry, hats, or other adornments worn on the head that do not have the appearance of a crown may be worn.

  • Other titles may be used that fit within the structure of the Branch as long as they are on a reasonably equivalent stratum.
