Solara engages in several areas of marshal competition which includes full contact marshal combat. Our sport may be hazardous, and all participants should be healthy enough for said activities. By allowing participants on the field, we take their word, including the signing of a waiver, that they are fit enough, understand the rules, and are voluntarily engaging in our sport.
Each combatant, recognizing the possibilities of physical injury to themselves in such combat, shall assume unto themselves all risk and liability for harm suffered by means of such combat.
All equipment and personal belongings, including equines, are the responsibility of the owner and Solara assumes no responsibility in the care, safety, or damage to any item.
All combatants must:
Sign the required waiver(s) to participate in any marshal activity including practice / training activities.
Fighters and non-fighting participants and observers shall likewise recognize the risks involved in their presence on or near the field of combat and shall assume unto themselves the liabilities thereof.
When siege weapons or archers are on the field, observers must move to a safe location and ensure their safety near the field. It is possible for an arrow or a thrown weapon to be deflected into the gallery. Observers should position themselves to ensure their maximum safety during combat.
Observers may not step on the combat field at any time. Exceptions are water bearers when a hold is called with time out for rehydration, or between battles. Unless the water bearers are told to come onto the field, they are not to be on the field.
Read and acknowledge their understanding of the rules.
Be honorable as they engage on the field or in competitions.
Be responsible for their own safety, including ensuring they are fighting in a safe manner.
No individual should engage in combat until they have inspected the field of combat and are satisfied it is suitable for combat for their fighting style and ability.
Combatants are not required to be members of the Realms of Solara except for Crown War Events.
For all Crown Wars, rattan combat will be the default style.
No one is required to engage in combat should they prefer not to do so without dishonor or penalty.
The Realms of Solara does not utilize chiurgeons (first responders) for medical emergencies. Any aide given on the field is by “good Samaritans” and not under the direction of the Kingdom or the Realms of Solara LLC.
