How do I become a Maister of Service?

The Order of the Fire Builders

Firstly, no matter what one participates in, service is paramount to the functioning of our Kingdom. It is the core base of our medieval society. Therefore, we offer a path of service that may lead to being inducted into the Order of the Fire Builders.

There are more areas of service than any other discipline. It may be that you help in camp, or set up a list field, or just run errands for the Crown. It encompasses the marshal and the arts as they too are service but is a recognition for individuals who just show up and get things done. It is the truest form of showing dedication to one’s group and thereby to the Kingdom. It may be by being a Lord, an officer, a feast maven, being part of the Crown’s retinue, running an event, or a myriad of other areas that are not within the fold of marshal and arts. The individuals who are always there, always making sure things run smoothly, are indispensable.

Fire Builders may take on Attendants (students) to mentor them in learning things such as running a tournament list or heralding court for example.

It goes without saying that Fire Builders are to help new members. It seems the ones best suited for this accolade do that already. They may help individuals find the best place to get garb, recruit new members, carpool individuals, and so much more.

The Fire Builders are the ones who truly make Solara a community. They are there, usually in the background, making things work. We honor such dedication.

Baronies and Duchies may give awards for service. Duchies may may Maisters (Maistresses) of Service at the Duchy level as well.

While this article is a summary explanation of the path of the Fire Builder, the full rules are available in the Kingdom of Solara Book of Law and any variance defaults to the Book of Law.
