Introduction

This document is the governing Corpus for all Kingdoms under the banner of The Realms. While each kingdom and branches therein have great latitude of “how they play the game”, the following rules are a blend of our Medieval re-enactment rules and considerations of mundane laws that we are expected to abide. The term “law” refers to “in-game” rules for the purpose of the use of Medieval vernacular. Mundane laws are laws and regulations required by government or regulatory agencies.

Mission Statement

The Realms is a non-profit, volunteer, medieval combat, battle re-enactment, performance, and medieval activities club. It is a Medieval “world” which desires to create a Kingdom that is at peace and to encourage such activities and events that are immersive, enjoyable, and educative. We endeavor to include activities such as are found within the historic Medieval era and Fantasy/Larp groups including battle re-enactment and the arts. Based in Ashland, Kentucky, USA.

Universal Rules for All Realms

The Universal Book of Rules is the governing document for all activities within The Realms.

  • All Branches must follow the Universal Rules herein.
    • These Rules must be followed for safety and consistency (including in inter-group combat).
    • This may include Rules that are required due to tax status and other legal obligations of a non-profit.
  • All Lords should familiarize themselves with these Rules in order to well to keep us within the scope of the Law.
  • Additional rules may be included in Kingdom Rules, marshal activities, and other subsequent documents.
